Lettings Officer

Niyaa People Ltd is recruiting a Lettings Officer in Leicester, Leicestershire to support a substantial Housing Association client. This full-time appointment offers an experienced housing professional the chance to deliver smooth social housing lettings and allocations while keeping the voids process running efficiently.

Role Overview

In this Lettings Officer post you will work on a temporary full-time basis for Niyaa People Ltd’s Housing Association client in Leicester, Leicestershire. Your focus will be sustaining a responsive voids and lettings service that matches suitable applicants to available homes in line with social housing policies. You will own the full letting cycle so that empty properties are prepared, advertised and re-let without unnecessary delay, helping the organisation meet its re-let targets and tenant expectations.

What You'll Do

• Oversee the complete end-to-end lettings cycle for vacant properties from notification through to tenancy sign-up
• Match applicants to suitable homes using allocations policies, shortlisting criteria and banding systems
• Arrange and conduct property viewings, collect feedback and manage any necessary follow-up actions
• Prepare formal tenancy offers, complete paperwork accurately and ensure all sign-up documentation meets compliance standards
• Coordinate with voids teams, maintenance colleagues and housing officers so properties are ready for letting on schedule
• Maintain clear records within housing management systems and produce regular updates on letting performance
• Respond to enquiries from applicants, provide accurate advice on eligibility and guide customers through the process

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Lettings Officer or similar role within social housing lettings and allocations
• Solid understanding of voids management, nomination agreements and lettings procedures used by Housing Associations
• Confidence handling the full lettings process, including applicant assessments, viewings and tenancy creation
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy caseload and meet re-let timescales
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with applicants, colleagues and partner agencies
• Accurate record-keeping ability and familiarity with housing ICT systems
• A proactive, customer-focused approach and readiness to join the client team already based in Leicester, Leicestershire
