About the Role

As a Lateral Entry Police Officer, you'll provide professional law enforcement and public safety services to protect life, property, and maintain public order throughout the Town. Working under general supervision, you'll handle a diverse range of duties that demand sound judgment, integrity, and a commitment to community-oriented policing.

What You'll Do

• Conduct regular patrol operations to deter crime and respond to calls for service
• Investigate traffic accidents, enforce traffic laws, and issue citations for violations
• Locate, interview, and apprehend suspects while adhering to proper legal procedures
• Issue citations and summonses for infractions of city ordinances and state law
• Prepare comprehensive reports documenting incidents, arrests, and investigation findings
• Respond to emergency situations and provide assistance to community members
• Maintain public order and enforce all applicable laws and municipal codes
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to uphold departmental standards

What We're Looking For

• Valid Texas Peace Officer Certification (required for this lateral entry position)
• Demonstrated prior experience as a police officer in law enforcement
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
• Ability to pass comprehensive background investigation and clearance
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Physical fitness and capability to perform police officer duties safely and effectively
