Impact Guru is hiring a full-time In-House Lawyer to manage legal affairs and provide strategic counsel from its Mumbai base, supporting the organisation's growth, compliance, and commercial objectives.
What This Role Involves
As an in-house lawyer at Impact Guru in Mumbai, you will oversee the company's legal and contractual portfolio. You'll advise senior leadership, work across departments, and protect the organisation's legal interests whilst supporting its strategic priorities. This role bridges legal expertise with operational need—ensuring every agreement, risk assessment, and compliance decision strengthens the business.
Core Duties
- Prepare, negotiate, and execute commercial contracts, agreements, and legal documents representing Impact Guru
- Advise executives and management on legal matters affecting business decisions and strategy
- Evaluate contract performance, identify legal risks, and assess liabilities arising from corporate deals and partnerships
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and business teams to fulfil legal requirements and maintain governance
- Research and monitor emerging legal issues likely to impact the organisation's operations or performance
- Maintain legal documentation, contracts, and compliance records
Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and admission to the Bar Council of India or equivalent legal qualification
- Practical experience in contract drafting, commercial negotiation, and corporate legal matters
- Sound understanding of Indian commercial law, contract law, and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in written and spoken English communication
- Capacity to manage multiple legal priorities and shifting deadlines
- Ability to engage effectively with departmental teams and senior management
