Head of Product Management

Washpost is seeking a Head of Product Management to lead our product strategy and vision at our Washington, DC. This full-time role directs the development and evolution of our digital products, working at the intersection of journalism, technology, and audience engagement.

About the Role

As Head of Product Management at Washpost, you'll own the strategic direction of key product initiatives that serve millions of readers and subscribers. You'll partner with editorial, engineering, design, and business teams to build products that inform, engage, and retain audiences. This leadership position requires both hands-on product expertise and the ability to inspire and guide a team of product managers in a fast-moving media environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Define and communicate product strategy, roadmap, and prioritization for your portfolio
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of product managers and cross-functional collaborators
• Conduct user research and data analysis to inform product decisions and validate hypotheses
• Work closely with editorial, engineering, and design partners to translate strategy into shipped features
• Monitor competitor landscape and industry trends; identify opportunities for differentiation
• Present product vision and progress to stakeholders, including senior leadership
• Drive metrics definition, tracking, and reporting to measure product impact and business outcomes

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership capacity
• Proven success leading product teams and managing cross-functional initiatives at scale
• Deep understanding of digital media, subscription models, or consumer-focused products
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills; comfort with data-driven decision making
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Demonstrated ability to ship products in competitive, fast-moving environments
• Experience with product discovery, user research, and iterative development methodologies
