Head of Data Engineering and Machine Learning

Quantum is seeking a Head of Data Engineering and Machine Learning to lead data-driven innovation in London on a hybrid basis. This is a full-time leadership role where you'll establish technical direction, scale analytics infrastructure, and shape the intelligence powering our platform for global brand partners.

As Head of Data Engineering and Machine Learning, you'll lead the technical teams underpinning our platform. You'll architect our data and ML roadmap, recruit and develop talent, and ensure our infrastructure scales with business growth. This role sits at the intersection of technology leadership and commercial impact.

What You'll Do

• Recruit, mentor, and build a world-class data engineering and ML team; drive a culture of technical craftsmanship and measurable outcomes
• Architect and own the technical vision for data infrastructure and model delivery; ensure alignment with business scaling ambitions
• Drive execution of quarterly and annual roadmaps; make informed trade-off decisions balancing innovation and pragmatism
• Partner cross-functionally with product, commercial, and executive teams to identify and deliver high-impact data initiatives
• Champion AI-driven methodologies across the function; stay engaged with hands-on technical work where it moves the needle

Who We're Looking For

• Proven experience building and scaling data engineering or machine learning teams with measurable impact
• Hands-on technical depth in data infrastructure, analytics platforms, or ML systems; demonstrated involvement in design and delivery
• Track record of shipping data products or platforms that meaningfully improved customer or business outcomes
• Ability to distil complex technical challenges into compelling narratives for business leaders and boards
• Strategic commercial perspective; proven ability to engage senior stakeholders on revenue and competitive positioning
• Collaborative team player who energises in fast-paced, high-growth environments and thrives on shared success
• Fluent English communication—both written and spoken—with an approachable, ego-free leadership presence
