Role Overview

As a Graduate Nurse in our Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit, you'll provide direct patient care to children requiring intermediate-level medical support. You'll work varied hours across our acute care pediatric unit, contributing to a team dedicated to compassionate, family-centered care for young patients.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess pediatric patients' vital signs, physical condition, and clinical status throughout your shifts
  • Document patient care, observations, and interventions accurately in our electronic health record system
  • Administer medications and treatments under supervision while building independence under preceptor guidance
  • Communicate with patients and families to provide support, education, and reassurance during their care
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, quality care
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient environment while adhering to infection prevention and safety protocols
  • Support the unit's commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous clinical improvement

Skills & Qualifications

  • Current or eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania
  • Completion of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain within your start date)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential for working with pediatric patients and families
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including potential evenings, nights, and weekends
