Forklift Driver – Decatur, AL

United Trades of America is seeking a full-time Forklift Driver to join our fabrication shop in Priceville, Morgan County, serving the Decatur, AL area. If you're a detail-oriented equipment operator passionate about safety and material handling, we'd like to meet you.

What This Role Involves

As our Forklift Driver, you'll be central to keeping materials flowing smoothly through our metal fabrication facility. You'll operate forklifts and material handling equipment to transport raw materials, work-in-progress components, and finished products throughout the shop. This full-time role demands precision, awareness, and teamwork in an environment where operational safety and production continuity go hand in hand.

Core Duties

• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment in compliance with all safety standards
• Transport and position materials, components, and finished goods throughout the fabrication facility
• Load and unload pallets, trucks, and storage areas with accuracy and care
• Complete and maintain material movement records and inventory logs
• Perform pre-shift inspections of equipment and report any maintenance issues
• Adhere to all federal and state forklift operation regulations
• Work collaboratively with production, welding, and warehouse staff to meet operational targets
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment

Who We're Looking For

• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain one through training
• Current, valid driver's license
• Physical ability to regularly lift and handle materials up to 50+ lbs
• Stamina to work full shifts involving standing, walking, and active material handling
• Commitment to workplace safety and hazard awareness
• Conscientiousness and follow-through on assigned tasks
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Background in fabrication, warehousing, or manufacturing preferred but not required
