Position Summary
Join our dietary team as a Food Service Aide at Maple Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare, a 92-bed long-term care facility serving the Kingston community. In this full-time role, you'll support meal preparation, service, and kitchen operations while ensuring our residents receive the nutrition and dining experience they deserve. Your position includes rotating shifts with every other weekend and holiday schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and portion food items according to dietary specifications and resident needs
- Serve meals to residents with care and attention to dietary requirements
- Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, dining spaces, and kitchen equipment
- Assist with food inventory tracking and supply restocking
- Support dietary staff with special meal requests and individual accommodations
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation protocols
- Clear dining areas and manage tray delivery and collection
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Availability for full-time work with rotating weekend and holiday shifts
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to collaborate with dietary and healthcare team members
- Dependable, professional approach to work in a healthcare facility
- Food service or long-term care experience is beneficial but not required
