About the Role
This position provides specialized accounting support to assigned ministry departments across multiple functional areas. You'll manage sophisticated financial transactions, deliver data-driven insights to leadership, and ensure accurate reporting that enables wise stewardship of organizational resources. Working closely with program managers and team members across the organization, you'll develop a deep understanding of each ministry's objectives while maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity.
What You'll Do
- Execute and oversee general accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger management
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing and collections
- Perform financial analysis and variance reviews to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement
- Prepare detailed financial reports for ministry departments and leadership, translating complex data into actionable insights
- Support the coordination of financial workflows between accounting and assigned Impact Centers to ensure alignment with ministry goals
- Collaborate with project managers and team leads to clarify financial requirements and deliver responsive accounting support
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and organizational policies
What We're Looking For
- Advanced accounting knowledge with demonstrated experience in multiple areas such as A/P, A/R, general ledger, or financial reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in high-volume environments
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
