Senior Estimator – Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers

Kiewit is hiring a Senior Estimator to join our Infrastructure Design Department in Glendale, Colorado. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead cost estimation on major infrastructure and transportation projects within our rapidly expanding Design Engineering Services group.

About the Role

As a Senior Estimator with Kiewit, you'll drive the financial and technical feasibility of significant design engineering projects from concept through bidding. You'll combine deep estimating expertise with strategic thinking to shape project strategy, pricing, and profitability at the earliest stages of infrastructure and transportation work.

What You'll Do

• Develop detailed cost estimates for infrastructure and transportation design projects using technical specifications and design documentation
• Partner with engineers, project managers, and design teams to evaluate scope, methodology, resources, and risk factors
• Prepare competitive bid proposals that reflect Kiewit's capabilities and market positioning
• Analyze subcontractor quotes, material sourcing, labor requirements, and equipment costs to build robust project budgets
• Lead bid reviews and cost validation meetings across departments to ensure alignment and accuracy
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to process improvements that strengthen the estimating function
• Maintain estimating systems, databases, and tools to drive consistency and efficiency

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an estimator in infrastructure, transportation, or heavy civil design environments
• Strong command of construction costs, methods, labor productivity, and equipment pricing
• Proficiency with estimating software platforms and Microsoft Office
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative efforts and mentor team members
• Commitment to precision, attention to detail, and quality in financial planning
