About This Position
This is an exciting opportunity to join the City of Richmond as a Principal Engineer, Civil/Mechanical. As we continue to grow and enhance our workforce, this role offers a unique chance to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative civil and mechanical engineering projects that support our community's growth and sustainability.
Core Duties
- Lead complex civil and mechanical engineering projects from conception through completion.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, planners, and contractors to ensure project success.
- Prepare detailed plans, specifications, and reports for projects in compliance with local regulations and standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in civil or mechanical engineering, preferably within a municipal or public works environment.
- A professional engineering license (PE) is required.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
