Stoughton Public Schools is hiring an Elementary ELE Teacher to support multilingual learners in Stoughton, Norfolk County. This full-time position brings direct English language instruction and ELE program coordination to elementary students across our district.
About the Role
The Elementary ELE Teacher provides specialized English language instruction, coordinates ELE services, and supports the academic success of multilingual students. You'll work within our Multilingual Learner department to help elementary students develop English proficiency and confidence in academic settings.
What You'll Do
- Deliver direct ESL instruction and English language support to elementary students
- Create clear, measurable English language proficiency goals for each student
- Track student progress through assessment, observation, and documentation
- Coordinate ELE services and oversee English learner program implementation
- Partner with classroom teachers, support specialists, and families to support student success
- Develop engaging, culturally responsive lessons that build communication and academic language skills
- Use differentiated instruction to meet students at their current proficiency level
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Education, TESOL, or English Language Learning
- Massachusetts teaching license with ELE/ESL endorsement (or eligible for certification)
- Experience teaching English language learners in an elementary classroom
- Knowledge of second language acquisition and evidence-based instructional strategies
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to assess language development and differentiate instruction
- Commitment to supporting multilingual learners and advancing educational equity
