About the Role
The Early College Academic Advisor is a part-time, school-term position requiring approximately 20 hours per week. Working on-site at Meridian Early College High School, the advisor partners with students, families, and faculty to help fifth-year Early College participants stay on track academically and reach graduation and postsecondary milestones. This is an at-will position aligned with the school calendar.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise fifth-year Early College students on academic planning, course selection, and degree progress.
- Monitor each student's standing and intervene early to keep learners moving toward completion.
- Coordinate with teachers, counselors, and college partners to align high school and college requirements.
- Support students in navigating enrollment, scheduling, and the transition beyond Early College.
- Maintain accurate advising records and communicate progress to students and families.
Qualifications
- Background in academic advising, school counseling, teaching, or a closely related education field.
- Strong understanding of high school and early college program structures and graduation requirements.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with students, families, and colleagues.
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage a part-time advising caseload within roughly 20 hours per week.
- Commitment to student achievement and equitable access to higher education.
