Role Overview
Ascentec Engineering is seeking a highly experienced Director or Senior Manager of Research & Development – Friction Stir Welding (FSW) to lead the expansion of the company's advanced joining technology capabilities and establish Ascentec as a premier development and manufacturing partner for aerospace, defense, space, and military applications. This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans that drive innovation in FSW technologies.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead the research and development of advanced joining technologies, specifically focusing on Friction Stir Welding (FSW).
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance Ascentec's position as a leader in aerospace, defense, space, and military applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between R&D goals and business objectives.
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers and researchers to foster innovation and drive project success.
- Contribute to the development of new products and processes that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
Who We're Looking For
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in research, development, or management roles within the aerospace, defense, space, or military industries.
- Proven track record in leading R&D initiatives and driving technological advancements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive project success.
- Strong knowledge of Friction Stir Welding (FSW) technologies and their applications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
