Director of Family & Community Outreach

La Joya Independent School District invites applications for the position of Director of Family & Community Outreach, a full-time leadership role based in La Joya, Texas. About the Role

As Director of Family & Community Outreach, you will serve as a strategic leader reporting to the Executive Director of Student, Family & Community Engagement. You will develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive programs designed to increase family involvement, improve home-school collaboration, and extend the district's reach into the community. This exempt-level position is classified at Pay Grade 7 Administrative and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student success through strengthened family and community connections.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute evidence-based family engagement initiatives that increase participation across all school levels
• Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with community organizations, local agencies, and stakeholder groups
• Coordinate parent involvement programs, workshops, and communication strategies that support student achievement
• Oversee outreach activities that address the needs and interests of diverse families within the district
• Develop policy recommendations and provide leadership on family and community engagement matters to district administration
• Measure program effectiveness through data collection, evaluation, and continuous improvement processes
• Represent the district at community events and serve as a liaison between schools and external partners

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree in education, public administration, community development, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in education, community engagement, or nonprofit leadership
• Demonstrated success building and sustaining collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience designing and evaluating community or family programs
• Knowledge of educational systems and commitment to supporting student and family success
• Bilingual proficiency (Spanish and English) is preferred
