What This Role Involves

You serve as the enterprise authority setting data architecture and information management standards, frameworks, and governance so that data design, integration, and stewardship stay consistent and effective. The position advances the overall information architecture, drives Master Data Management maturity beginning with customer domains, and ensures data assets remain reliable and reusable. You enable day-to-day operations, analytics, digital programs, and AI efforts while directing architects, modelers, and engineers.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Define and oversee enterprise data architecture standards, design patterns, information models, reference architectures, and review processes.
• Supply architectural leadership and design review for projects and technology work that touch enterprise data assets.
• Own and expand the enterprise canonical data model plus business information architecture to deliver consistency, interoperability, reuse, and scale.
• Lead Master Data Management strategy, architecture, and roadmap development, starting with customer data and extending into other domains.
• Partner with business and technology executives on future-state data capabilities, information practices, and architecture roadmaps tied to strategic goals.
• Direct enterprise data modeling, metadata architecture, information lifecycle practices, and architectural best practices.
• Assess emerging technologies, data platforms, and AI tools that strengthen enterprise data architecture and business value.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of Data Architects, Data Modelers, and Data Engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, data management, or a related discipline.
• Ten or more years progressive experience in enterprise data architecture, information architecture, data modeling, and information management.
• Track record of shaping organization-wide business and technology decisions through architectural leadership.
• Experience aligning with enterprise, solution, and cloud architects on end-to-end strategies.
• Demonstrated design and rollout of enterprise data standards, architecture patterns, and governance processes.
• Strong conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling expertise.
• Leadership of Master Data Management initiatives and enterprise information management programs.
• Development of enterprise information models, integration standards, and reference architectures.
• Ability to work with senior leaders on future-state architecture roadmaps.

Preferred credentials include a related master’s degree, background in financial services or regulated industries, cloud data platforms and modern ecosystems, support for AI, advanced analytics, customer intelligence and digital transformation, team-building experience in architecture or information management, and certifications such as TOGAF, CDMP, Azure or AWS data credentials. Technical range covers enterprise and information architecture, Master Data Management, metadata and lifecycle management, data integration and reference data, architecture frameworks, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), warehousing and analytics environments, SQL, architecture reviews, and AI data principles. Leadership strengths span strategic planning, executive communication, stakeholder management, change guidance, cross-functional partnership, innovation, coaching, and decisive problem solving.
