This Direct Support Professional - Day Services, No Weekends position with Merrick in Vadnais Heights, MN delivers consistent full-time weekday support within day services so participants can develop skills and participate fully in community life. Core Duties
- Guide participants through personal care routines and activities of daily living as outlined in each individualized plan
- Lead skill-development sessions, recreational choices, and community inclusion opportunities that encourage greater self-reliance
- Observe and accurately record progress, behaviors, and service notes to support continuous improvement
- Maintain a secure, respectful, and stimulating day-services environment that reduces barriers and promotes positive engagement
- Partner with co-workers to implement person-centered goals and adjust approaches in real time
- Respond promptly to changing needs while modeling healthy communication and social skills
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Prior experience providing direct support or assisting people with disabilities is preferred
- Clear, compassionate communication skills and the capacity to build trusting relationships
- Reliability, sound judgment, and comfort working both independently and within a collaborative team
- Full-time availability strictly for day services hours Monday through Friday to honor the no-weekends structure
- Genuine commitment to fostering dignity, choice, and community connection for every participant
