The Opportunity
Anavation is seeking a seasoned Digital Forensics Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our multidisciplinary investigative and cyber-operations team. In this role, you will provide advanced digital forensics expertise for federal law-enforcement investigations, cybercrime cases, and operational missions. You'll collaborate closely with forensic developers, cryptocurrency analysts, and mission engineers to shape technical decisions and enhance the team's forensic capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply deep technical knowledge and investigative acumen to drive complex forensic capabilities that strengthen national security.
- Deliver high-level analysis across specialized forensic applications and conduct functional systems analysis.
- Design advanced capabilities and workflows, and prepare technical reports supporting critical investigative needs.
- Guide investigators through difficult digital-evidence challenges and introduce new forensic methods.
- Contribute seasoned operational judgment to mission decisions and independently lead forensic efforts when needed.

We are looking for a senior digital-forensics practitioner with a proven track record in the field. You should have extensive experience in advanced digital forensics, including expertise in specialized forensic applications and systems analysis. A background in cyber operations and mission-focused innovation is highly desirable.
