The Opportunity
Anavationllc is seeking a Digital Forensics SME to join our team. This role offers the chance to work on advanced digital forensics expertise for federal law-enforcement investigations and cybercrime cases. You will collaborate with forensic developers, cryptocurrency analysts, and mission engineers to drive complex forensic capabilities that strengthen national security.
What You'll Do
Your responsibilities include delivering high-level analysis across specialized forensic applications, conducting functional systems analysis, designing advanced capabilities and workflows, and preparing technical reports. You will guide investigators through digital-evidence challenges, introduce new forensic methods, and contribute to the technical direction of major cases requiring novel forensic capabilities.
- Apply deep technical knowledge, investigative acumen, and sound operational judgment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to shape technical decisions
- Lead forensic efforts independently when necessary
- Advise investigators on complex cases
- Contribute seasoned operational judgment to mission decisions
Requirements
Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in digital forensics, with a focus on federal law-enforcement investigations and cybercrime cases. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required. Strong technical skills, including knowledge of specialized forensic applications, are essential.
