What This Role Involves

As a Diesel Technician/Mechanic III at Penske Truck Rental, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy-duty trucks to ensure they are in top condition. You'll perform routine maintenance checks, diagnose issues, and carry out repairs on various components of the vehicles.

Core Duties

• Perform preventive maintenance and repair services on diesel-powered trucks
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment
• Replace or repair parts as needed, including engines, transmissions, and other critical components
• Maintain detailed records of all work performed and vehicle history
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in diesel mechanics is preferred
• Valid driver’s license required, CDL certification not mandatory but helpful
• Experience in heavy-duty vehicle repair is a plus
• Strong mechanical skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Aptitude for learning new technologies and procedures
• Penske offers competitive pay at $23.00 per hour, with an additional $2.00 per hour during second shift hours (Monday through Friday)
