Position Summary

This full-time Demi Chef - Food Republic (Casual) opportunity at SkyCity places you at the centre of kitchen activities for Food Republic in Auckland, North Island. You will support the preparation of high-standard dishes, work alongside experienced culinary professionals, and help maintain service excellence across varied shifts while contributing to the smooth running of kitchen operations in a multipurpose venue setting.

Responsibilities

• Execute food preparation and cooking tasks in line with menu specifications and quality expectations for Food Republic
• Collaborate with the broader kitchen brigade to deliver meals efficiently during peak periods
• Uphold rigorous hygiene, cleanliness and food safety protocols throughout all stations
• Assist with mise en place, portion control and dish plating to maintain consistency
• Help manage produce and supplies by reporting low stock and reducing wastage
• Participate actively in team briefings and continuous skill development initiatives

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience working as a Demi Chef or equivalent junior chef in busy kitchens
• Competence in a range of cooking methods and accurate recipe following under time constraints
• Current food safety qualifications and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards
• Physical stamina and a calm approach when handling high-volume service demands
• Excellent interpersonal skills that foster cooperation within diverse kitchen teams
• Commitment to delivering memorable dining experiences for guests at SkyCity venues in Auckland
