About the Role
As Dean, you will lead the School of Arts & Humanities under the Office of the Provost within Academic Affairs on the Tsaile Campus. Reporting directly to the Provost, you will provide comprehensive academic and administrative leadership for the school, setting the strategic direction and fostering an environment where students and faculty thrive.
What You'll Do
- Oversee all operations and academic initiatives within the School of Arts & Humanities, ensuring alignment with institutional mission and goals
- Lead faculty in curriculum development, instructional planning, and innovative program creation that meets student learning outcomes
- Support faculty professional growth, performance evaluation, and retention through mentorship and resource allocation
- Advocate for student success by establishing academic standards, retention strategies, and support services
- Manage the school's budget, allocate resources strategically, and maintain fiscal responsibility
- Collaborate with other academic departments and institutional leadership on cross-disciplinary initiatives
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and contribute to institutional assessment efforts
- Engage with community and industry partners to enhance educational relevance and opportunity
- Perform administrative duties and attend meetings as needed, including occasional weekend or after-hours work
What We're Looking For
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent) in a relevant field
- Demonstrated experience in academic administration, faculty leadership, or higher education management
- Strong understanding of curriculum design, institutional accreditation, and assessment practices
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
- Experience managing budgets and institutional resources
- Commitment to student-centered learning and institutional mission
- Ability to foster inclusive, collaborative environments that support diverse perspectives
About This Position
This role operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility for academic and community engagement. Dine College, serving the Navajo Nation and surrounding communities, values educational excellence rooted in cultural integrity and indigenous knowledge.
