Data Engineer – Remote

Mindex is hiring a Data Engineer for a remote position based in the Rochester, New York area. In this full-time role, you'll design and maintain scalable data infrastructure that empowers our team with reliable, accessible data for analytics and business intelligence.

Role Overview

As a Data Engineer at Mindex, you'll architect data pipelines and systems that enable seamless data flow across our organization. Working remotely, you'll partner with analytics, engineering, and product teams to build solutions that transform raw data into actionable insights. Your work will directly support decision-making and fuel our company's data-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy data pipelines that reliably extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources
• Build and optimize data warehouse and lake infrastructure to support analytics, reporting, and downstream applications
• Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions
• Establish data quality standards, implement validation frameworks, and troubleshoot data integrity issues
• Monitor system performance, optimize queries, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Document data architecture, processes, and technical decisions to support team scalability and knowledge sharing

Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python or Java
• Strong SQL proficiency and hands-on experience with relational databases and data modeling
• Familiarity with ETL frameworks, data pipeline tools, or cloud data platforms
• Understanding of data architecture principles, database design, and warehouse concepts
• Ability to communicate clearly, collaborate across teams, and thrive in a remote working environment
