Corporate Counsel, Global Road Safety & Compliance Legal

Amazon is hiring an experienced Corporate Counsel to lead legal strategy and compliance efforts across our global transportation and logistics operations, based in International, King County. In this full-time role, you'll shape how we navigate complex regulatory environments while supporting the safe, efficient movement of goods that reach millions of customers worldwide.

About the Role

This is a key legal position within Amazon's transportation and logistics division. You'll develop and execute legal strategies that address road safety, regulatory compliance, and operational risk across international markets. Your work directly influences how we build and maintain safe, compliant supply chain networks that serve diverse customer bases globally.

What You'll Do

• Develop comprehensive legal strategies for transportation safety, compliance, and risk management across global operations
• Navigate and advise on international regulatory frameworks, standards, and requirements affecting logistics and road transportation
• Partner with cross-functional teams—operations, safety, policy, and external stakeholders—to ensure legal alignment with business objectives
• Identify compliance gaps and implement legal solutions that strengthen our operational practices
• Conduct legal analysis on emerging transportation regulations and their impact on Amazon's business model
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar membership in the United States
• Substantial experience in transportation law, regulatory compliance, or logistics-focused legal practice
• Demonstrated expertise in road safety regulations, vehicle compliance, or similar specialized legal domains
• Strong analytical and legal research skills with the ability to synthesize complex regulatory information
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; ability to translate legal concepts for business stakeholders
• Experience working within large, global organizations or managing international legal matters
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with sound judgment
