About the Role
As a Part-Time Cook at our Del Mar senior living facility, you'll play a vital role in nourishing and delighting our residents through thoughtful food preparation and kitchen management. This position is perfect for someone passionate about cooking and working with seniors in a collaborative, mission-driven setting.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and cook meals according to approved recipes and dietary specifications, accommodating residents' nutritional needs and preferences
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards in compliance with health codes
- Collaborate with dietary and healthcare staff to address resident dietary restrictions and allergies
- Monitor food inventory, quality, and portion control
- Assist with meal planning and food ordering as needed
- Ensure a safe, sanitary kitchen environment for staff and residents
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a cook or in food service preparation
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment
