About the Role

As the Government Affairs Coordinator, you will work hand-in-hand with the superintendent to drive the District's government relations agenda. The position centers on guiding legislative, stakeholder, and board engagement efforts while strengthening Arlington ISD's advocacy, public policy, and intergovernmental relationships across Tarrant County.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with the superintendent to set direction for the District's government relations and advocacy initiatives.
• Track legislative activity and emerging bills, evaluating how proposed measures could affect the District.
• Assess the implications of public policy decisions and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
• Organize and facilitate engagement activities involving the board, community members, and key stakeholders.
• Develop briefing materials, summaries, and supporting documents that inform leadership and guide decision-making.
• Coordinate intergovernmental relations to keep the District connected with policymakers and partner organizations.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the legislative process and public policy as it relates to public education.
• Experience monitoring legislation, analyzing policy impacts, and preparing concise briefing documents.
• Skill in planning and coordinating stakeholder and community engagement events.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, board members, and external partners.
