Join K2 Staffing's client, a leading Southern California commercial painting and waterproofing contractor, as a full-time Commercial Paint Estimator/Project Manager in Carlsbad, San Diego County. This role combines technical estimating expertise with hands-on project oversight to deliver successful, profitable commercial painting projects from proposal through completion.
About the Role
You'll play a critical part in the success of high-value commercial painting and waterproofing projects. Your dual expertise in estimating and project management will ensure that projects stay on schedule and on budget while maintaining the quality standards clients expect.
What You'll Do
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial painting and waterproofing projects
- Analyze project scope, materials, labor, and overhead to develop accurate, competitive bids
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation from kickoff through closeout
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Track project costs against estimates and implement corrective actions to control overruns
- Monitor quality and ensure compliance with safety standards and specifications
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in commercial construction estimating or commercial painting project management
- Strong knowledge of painting and waterproofing techniques, materials, and labor standards
- Proficiency with estimating software and project management tools
- Demonstrated ability to produce accurate, thorough estimates and proposals
- Proven track record managing projects within budget and on schedule
- Strong communication and coordination skills with clients and trade teams
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
