About This Position
The Chief Advancement Officer at For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation is a pivotal role overseeing fundraising efforts and major gifts. Founded 25 years ago in honor of Pete Bossow, the organization has grown into a nationally recognized entity with a dedicated staff of 15, engaged Board leadership, and three core programs: Travel Respite Experience, Staycation Respite Experience, and Respite Reinforced.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the organization’s mission and growth goals.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift donors, including high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
- Manage a portfolio of major gifts, ensuring timely and effective communication with donors.
- Oversee fundraising events and campaigns to maximize revenue generation.
- Collaborate with the executive team and board members to align advancement efforts with organizational priorities.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of successful major gift campaigns.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Exceptional relationship-building and communication abilities.
- Demonstrated success in securing significant donations from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
- A deep understanding of the nonprofit sector and a passion for supporting cancer respite programs.
