The Chef Instructor, Pastry at Sur La Table contributes to the success of a store by inspiring customers on all points of their culinary journey. This role blends culinary talent and teaching skills to support the Resident Chef in driving business results.

• Supports the Resident Chef in creating an engaging and educational environment for customers
• Teaches classes, demonstrations, and workshops focused on pastry techniques and recipes
• Develops and maintains a positive customer experience through exceptional teaching and interaction
• Collaborates with the team to ensure store operations run smoothly and efficiently

Core Duties

The core duties of this role include:

• Teaching classes, demonstrations, and workshops focused on pastry techniques and recipes
• Developing lesson plans that align with Sur La Table’s culinary curriculum
• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace to ensure customer safety and satisfaction
• Providing exceptional customer service and addressing any concerns promptly
• Collaborating with the Resident Chef and other team members to achieve store goals

What You Bring

To excel in this role, candidates should bring:

• A minimum of 3 years of professional pastry experience in a culinary setting
• Proven ability to teach and inspire others through engaging and effective lessons
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and colleagues
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities
• A passion for sharing knowledge of pastry techniques and recipes
