About the Role
As a flatbed truck driver with Western Express, you'll operate modern equipment on long-distance routes throughout the United States. This is a full-time, over-the-road (OTR) position in our Danville, KY hub, offering competitive mileage-based pay with immediate start dates available. You'll work as a company driver, managing your own schedule while maintaining the safety and integrity of your loads on every mile.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Operate a flatbed truck safely and professionally across multiple states
- Properly secure and load cargo according to DOT and company standards
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs
- Navigate efficient routes while adhering to Hours of Service regulations
- Maintain accurate logbooks and required documentation
- Communicate with dispatch to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route changes
- Follow all federal and state transportation laws and company safety protocols
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license with flatbed endorsement
- Minimum 1 year of recent commercial driving experience (or completion of CDL training program)
- Clean driving record and passing background check
- Ability to pass DOT physical examination
- Professional attitude with strong safety focus
- Reliable communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work over-the-road routes with time away from home
