About the Role
Western Express is hiring experienced CDL-A drivers for our Dry Van fleet with immediate openings. You'll operate a commercial tractor-trailer on long-haul over-the-road routes, transporting general freight safely and on schedule. This position is ideal for professional drivers who take pride in their work and are ready to get back on the road right away.
What You'll Do
- Operate a commercial vehicle safely while maintaining strict compliance with Department of Transportation regulations
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging device (ELD) records
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues
- Secure cargo properly and transport freight to ensure safe, on-time delivery
- Navigate assigned routes efficiently and communicate with dispatchers
- Interact professionally with customers and maintain vehicle cleanliness
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record
- Proven professional truck driving experience
- Current DOT medical certificate
- Willingness to spend extended time away from home on over-the-road routes
- Strong understanding of federal and state transportation regulations
