About the Role
As a Cashier at Home Depot, you're the final touchpoint in every customer's shopping journey. This full-time position centers on delivering exceptional service while processing transactions with accuracy and speed. You'll work at our Dakota Ridge location, supporting both traditional checkout and self-service options to keep lines moving and customers satisfied.
What You'll Do
- Process customer purchases, returns, and exchanges with attention to detail and speed
- Operate point-of-sale systems and handle cash, card, and digital payment methods securely
- Oversee and assist at self-checkout stations to ensure smooth operations and prevent loss
- Greet customers warmly and answer questions about products and current promotions
- Build product knowledge to identify upsell opportunities and help customers find what they need
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures consistently
- Maintain a clean, organized checkout area and assist with general store upkeep
- Support team members and store management during peak shopping hours
What We're Looking For
- Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help customers
- Ability to work accurately and quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with cash handling and point-of-sale systems preferred
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work scheduled shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Teamwork mindset and adaptability to changing store needs
- High school diploma or equivalent
