Associate General Counsel, Energy and Infrastructure

Hut 8, a leader in next-generation data center development and operation, is hiring an Associate General Counsel, Energy and Infrastructure for its Miami, Miami-Dade County office. This is a full-time position for an experienced legal professional ready to shape the regulatory and commercial landscape of advanced computing infrastructure.

About This Position

As Associate General Counsel focused on Energy and Infrastructure, you'll drive legal strategy for one of the fastest-growing sectors in computing. Your role bridges critical areas: regulatory compliance, power procurement, real estate transactions, environmental permitting, and commercial negotiations. You'll report to our General Counsel and work alongside business development, operations, and finance teams building and operating high-performance data center facilities across North America.

What You'll Do

• Review and negotiate power supply agreements, interconnection agreements, and critical infrastructure contracts
• Manage energy regulatory compliance and utility coordination across multiple jurisdictions
• Advise on land acquisition, zoning, permitting, and environmental compliance for data center development
• Oversee commercial agreements with cloud, AI, colocation, and mining customers
• Support corporate structuring, financing transactions, and investor relations matters
• Conduct legal due diligence on infrastructure projects and partnerships
• Develop and maintain legal policies and procedures for operational excellence

Who We're Looking For

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership (any US state)
• 5+ years of legal experience in energy, infrastructure, real estate, or corporate transactions
• Strong knowledge of utility regulations, power markets, and infrastructure permitting
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and contract management skills
• Ability to manage multiple complex matters and stakeholder relationships simultaneously
• Clear communication and business-minded approach to legal problem-solving
• Familiarity with emerging technology sectors and evolving regulatory frameworks is a plus
