The Community Solution is seeking a dedicated Foundational Sciences Faculty - Pathology to join the Department of Medical Education at the Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine (IllinoisCOM) in Chicago, Cook County. This full-time, on-site academic role offers an opportunity to help shape the next generation of osteopathic physicians.
About the Role
As a Foundational Sciences Faculty member specializing in Pathology, you will become part of a collaborative, forward-looking team within the Department of Medical Education (DME). This is a full-time, non-tenure appointment, and candidates will be considered at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor based on the depth of their experience. The position centers on building and teaching an integrated, interdisciplinary osteopathic medical curriculum in Chicago.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver pathology instruction within an interdisciplinary foundational sciences curriculum.
- Collaborate with fellow faculty to integrate pathology concepts across the osteopathic medical program.
- Contribute to curriculum innovation and ongoing improvement of teaching methods.
- Support and mentor osteopathic medical students throughout their foundational coursework.
- Participate actively in the academic and professional life of the Department of Medical Education.
Qualifications
- Academic and professional background in pathology or a closely related foundational science discipline.
- Teaching experience sufficient to merit appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level.
- Commitment to interdisciplinary, team-based medical education.
- Strong collaborative and communication skills suited to an innovative academic environment.
- Availability to work on-site in Chicago, Cook County (this is not a remote position).
