Join the ACLU's Affiliate Support and Nationwide Initiatives Program and Strategy team as a Fall 2026 graduate intern in New York City. This part-time internship offers the opportunity to support the civil rights work of the American Civil Liberties Union while building professional experience in nonprofit program development and strategic planning.
About the Role
The ACLU seeks a dedicated graduate intern to join the Program and Strategy team within the Affiliate Support and Nationwide Initiatives (ASNI) department. Based at our New York National office, you'll contribute to initiatives that strengthen the ACLU's affiliate network and advance civil liberties across the United States.
What You'll Do
- Support program development and strategic initiatives across the ACLU's nationwide affiliate network
- Contribute to research, planning, and coordination of civil rights advocacy programs
- Assist with communications and materials to support affiliate organizations
- Help analyze data and trends to inform program strategy and decision-making
- Participate in meetings, projects, and learning opportunities with ASNI leadership
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled graduate student or recently graduated undergraduate student
- Based in the United States for the entire duration of the internship
- Strong interest in civil rights, social justice, and nonprofit advocacy
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
