This role demands officers who can maintain objectivity and credibility under scrutiny.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive criminal investigations of critical incidents involving officer-involved shooting and use-of-force encounters
- Gather, preserve, and analyze evidence from complex crime scenes and incident locations
- Interview witnesses, involved officers, and other parties relevant to investigations
- Prepare detailed investigative reports documenting findings and legal compliance
- Collaborate with prosecutors, defense counsel, and law enforcement partners
- Perform general patrol and law enforcement duties as assigned
- Testify in court and present investigative findings when required
What We're Looking For
- Certification as a sworn peace officer in Arizona or ability to obtain certification
- Knowledge of criminal investigation techniques and procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain objective and impartial in high-stakes situations
- Experience working in law enforcement or a related field
- Valid Arizona driver's license and clean driving record
- Willingness to work varied shifts and be on-call for emergency responses
