Join Clark-Pleasant Community School as a full-time 1:1 Special Education Instructional Assistant at Whiteland Community High School. About the Role
As a 1:1 Special Education Instructional Assistant, you'll provide personalized academic and behavioral support to students enrolled in special education programs. Working closely with classroom teachers and special education staff, you'll help create an inclusive learning environment where each student can access content, develop independence, and build confidence both academically and socially.
What You'll Do
- Deliver one-on-one instructional support aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and classroom learning objectives
- Assist students with academic tasks, including note-taking, reading comprehension, and assignment completion
- Support the development of life and social skills, including communication, organization, and peer interaction strategies
- Implement behavioral support plans and strategies as directed by special education professionals
- Monitor student progress and communicate observations to teachers and special education staff
- Support students in accessing school routines, activities, and community spaces throughout the school day
- Collaborate with the instructional team to adapt materials and strategies that support student learning

- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work compassionately with students of varying abilities and learning needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated patience, reliability, and professional judgment
- Willingness to follow instructional direction and work as part of a collaborative team
- Prior experience working with special education students is valued
