OA Counselor

Human Learning Systems is hiring a full-time OA Counselor in Grand Rapids, Kent County, to drive outreach and admissions efforts that connect eligible individuals with life-changing training opportunities. About the Role

As an Outreach and Admissions (OA) Counselor with Human Learning Systems, you will serve as a frontline ambassador for the program, identifying and enrolling qualified candidates while cultivating partnerships across the Grand Rapids area. This is a full-time, in-person position based in Kent County, ideal for a relationship-driven professional who enjoys both fieldwork and meaningful one-on-one guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out outreach and admissions activities that promote the program throughout the community.
• Recruit, screen, and enroll eligible applicants, guiding them through each step of the admissions process.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, social service agencies, one-stop centers, military services, and other training programs.
• Educate prospective participants, families, and community partners about program eligibility and opportunities.
• Represent Human Learning Systems at events, organizations, and partner sites across Grand Rapids and Kent County.

• A genuine commitment to helping individuals access education and workforce training.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse individuals, organizations, and community partners.
• Ability to develop partnerships with agencies, schools, and other stakeholders.
• Comfort working on-site in Grand Rapids, Kent County, with regular outreach in the surrounding community.
• Organizational skills to manage recruitment, screening, and enrollment activities effectively.
