Director of Quality Systems

Astrix Technology is hiring a full-time Director of Quality Systems in Itasca, Illinois, to lead food safety and quality assurance for a fast-growing food manufacturing operation. About the Role

As Director of Quality Systems, you will own the food safety and quality agenda for a growing food manufacturer committed to producing safe, high-quality products. Based on-site in Itasca, Illinois, you will shape the strategy, standards, and culture that keep every product compliant and customer-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the company's food safety and quality assurance (FSQA) programs across manufacturing operations.
• Build, maintain, and continuously improve quality systems that uphold the highest food safety standards.
• Ensure full regulatory compliance with applicable food industry requirements.
• Champion operational excellence and consistent product quality throughout production.
• Lead and develop quality teams, embedding accountability and best practices on the plant floor.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in quality systems, food safety, and quality assurance within food manufacturing.
• Strong working knowledge of food safety regulations, compliance frameworks, and quality management systems.
• Track record of driving operational excellence and continuous improvement in a production environment.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence a culture of quality and accountability.
• Willingness to work on-site in Itasca, Illinois (this is not a remote position).
