About the Role
Diamond Transportation is partnering with experienced Class A CDL Owner Operators for OTR routes based in Urbana. We welcome independent contractors who own their equipment and have a strong background in open-deck hauling. This position centers on moving specialized freight safely across long-haul lanes while you operate as your own business under the Diamond Transportation banner.
Key Responsibilities
- Run OTR freight as a Class A CDL Owner Operator, supplying and maintaining your own tractor.
- Haul loads on RGN, flatbed, or stepdeck trailers in accordance with safety and DOT standards.
- Properly secure cargo using chaining, strapping, and load-securement best practices.
- Inspect, tarp, and protect freight to ensure it arrives intact and on schedule.
- Maintain accurate logs and communicate clearly with dispatch throughout each trip.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable OTR driving experience.
- Hands-on experience with RGN, flatbed, or stepdeck trailers.
- Solid working knowledge of chaining, strapping, and cargo securement.
- Independent contractor status with your own truck and the willingness to run over-the-road lanes.
