Wave is hiring a full-time Office Manager in Banjul, The Gambia to oversee seamless daily operations at our Kotu office and enable the wider team to work productively.

The Opportunity

In this Office Manager role at Wave you will manage the practical side of our Gambia workplace so that facilities, supplies and routines stay reliable. The post involves coordinating administrative work, stewarding vendor relationships and furnishing everyday support that keeps colleagues focused. Wave builds dependable financial services that people across Africa can access and use without high barriers, with strong growth already spanning nine countries. The position is based at the Kotu office near Banjul and requires legal authorisation to work in The Gambia.

Core Duties

  • Coordinate everyday office functions so the workplace runs without interruption.
  • Guide, train and coach administrative colleagues while assigning work to maintain high productivity.
  • Introduce and sustain clear procedures and office systems.
  • Arrange staff travel nationally and internationally, covering flights, hotels and ground transport.
  • Administer the office budget responsibly.
  • Maintain current health and safety standards.
  • Purchase supplies, equipment and furniture and keep stock at adequate levels.
  • Prepare contracts, operational handbooks, presentations and management reports.
  • Liaise with maintenance contractors to ensure cleanliness, safety and functioning equipment.
  • Report office performance to senior leaders and work with them to refine processes.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Five or more years in a comparable office-management role.
  • A degree or substantial professional background in administration or logistics.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Fluent spoken Wolof.
  • Proven organisational and administrative skills gained in complex office settings.
  • Demonstrated success in managing external vendors and negotiating favourable costs.
