About the Role

The Assistant Property Manager (Tax Credit & HUD required) at Gchp in Baton Rouge, LA works closely with the property manager to keep day-to-day housing activities running smoothly. You will help maintain orderly resident experiences, accurate records, and full adherence to affordable housing program standards while strengthening overall site performance for tax credit and HUD properties.

Responsibilities

• Support leasing processes, including application intake, eligibility reviews, and resident move-in/move-out coordination for tax credit and HUD units.
• Assist with rent collection, payment posting, and follow-up on delinquencies while maintaining precise ledgers.
• Help prepare and organize compliance files, certifications, and reports to meet Tax Credit and HUD documentation requirements.
• Respond to resident questions, resolve routine concerns, and promote a positive community atmosphere.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams on work orders, unit readiness, and safety inspections.
• Contribute to marketing efforts, unit showings, and waitlist management as needed to achieve occupancy goals.
• Monitor adherence to fair housing guidelines and property policies across all daily interactions.

Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated background assisting with or managing Tax Credit and HUD properties is required.
• Solid working knowledge of LIHTC rules, HUD program procedures, and related certification processes.
• Strong organizational abilities for tracking multiple resident files and deadlines simultaneously.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills that build trust with residents, vendors, and colleagues.
• Proficiency with basic office software and willingness to learn property management systems.
• Attention to detail that supports audit readiness and regulatory accuracy every day.
• Ability to work onsite in Baton Rouge, LA as a full-time Assistant Property Manager (Tax Credit & HUD required).
