Join Wabtec as a Regional Sales Manager for Short Line Railroads, covering the central region from a remote location based in Indiana. Position Summary
As Regional Sales Manager for Short Line Railroads, you'll lead all sales activities for our short line railroad segment across the central region. Your focus will be on identifying growth opportunities, managing key accounts, and driving revenue targets while representing Wabtec's proven rail solutions to independent and regional rail operators who depend on our products and expertise.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies targeting short line railroad operators and transportation decision-makers
- Manage a sales pipeline from initial prospect identification through contract negotiation and close
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with fleet managers, procurement teams, and operations leaders at regional railroads
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations showcasing Wabtec solutions for rail operations and safety
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery of orders
- Track and report on sales metrics, forecasts, and market intelligence to support regional performance goals
- Travel within the central region as needed to meet customers and attend industry events
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of enterprise sales experience, preferably in transportation, rail, or industrial equipment sectors
- Proven track record of hitting revenue targets and closing complex B2B deals
- Deep understanding of short line railroad operations, challenges, or purchasing cycles
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to influence at executive levels
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage territory independently from a remote base
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
