About the Role
As a Game Designer at TapBlaze, you'll own the design of new features and systems for casual F2P mobile games. Your role bridges creative vision with data-driven iteration, requiring you to design compelling gameplay mechanics while maintaining a healthy game economy that keeps players engaged and the game sustainable. You'll work directly with engineering and analytics teams to bring mechanics to life, test them with real players, and refine based on behavioral data. This position is for someone who genuinely loves playing and designing casual F2P games—someone who understands what makes them engaging and wants to push the genre forward.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design new game mechanics and features for casual F2P mobile titles, with emphasis on player progression and long-term engagement
- Balance game economy systems to ensure rewarding gameplay while maintaining business health
- Create detailed design documentation for engineers and cross-functional partners
- Playtest features regularly and gather feedback from internal teams and external players
- Analyze player data and engagement metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
- Iterate on existing systems to enhance player retention and satisfaction
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics to prioritize features and solve design challenges
Qualifications
- Genuine passion for casual F2P mobile games—you actively play and understand the genre deeply
- 2+ years of professional game design experience or equivalent portfolio demonstrating strong game design fundamentals
- Understanding of game economy design, progression systems, and balancing mechanics
- Experience with game design tools or engines (Unity, Unreal, or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions clearly
- Data-driven mindset with ability to interpret analytics and adjust designs accordingly
- Ability to manage competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment
