The Opportunity

Ascension Lutheran School seeks a dedicated Recess and Extended Day Care Attendant to provide safe, engaging supervision for TK through 8th grade students during non-instructional times. Working under the Extended Care Director, you'll create positive experiences during recess, morning and afternoon care programs, and school breaks, fostering a welcoming environment where every student feels supported and respected.

Core Duties

• Supervise students during recess and outdoor activities, ensuring safety and facilitating constructive play
• Provide morning and afternoon extended care supervision and engagement for TK–8th grade students
• Support school-wide activities and programs during school breaks and special occasions
• Promote positive behavior and help students develop social-emotional skills through guidance and encouragement
• Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and the Extended Care Director about student experiences and needs
• Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety protocols to protect student wellbeing

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant childcare experience
• Ability to supervise and interact positively with elementary-age students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to student safety and positive behavioral support
• Flexibility to work assigned extended care shifts and school schedules
• Willingness to complete background check and clearance procedures as required
