Trinity Health FirstChoice is hiring a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Elsmere, Albany County, New York, earning $2,880 per week. This is a full-time clinical role on night shifts where you'll deliver specialized respiratory care to a diverse patient population.

What This Role Involves

You'll work as a travel respiratory therapist in an acute care environment, providing hands-on patient assessment and evidence-based pulmonary care. You'll commit to 36 hours per week across 12-hour night shifts, making a direct impact on patient outcomes while gaining experience in a new healthcare setting.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and monitor patients' pulmonary status throughout shifts
• Deliver oxygen therapy, inhaled medications, and aerosol treatments per physician protocols
• Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation, including setup, monitoring, and weaning protocols
• Obtain and analyze arterial and venous blood gas samples; interpret findings for clinical decision-making
• Maintain detailed records of patient responses to therapy and respiratory interventions
• Provide patient and family education on breathing techniques, disease management, and treatment plans
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and ICU specialists

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license or equivalent state credential
• Valid, unrestricted license to practice in New York
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in acute or critical care respiratory therapy
• Demonstrated competency with mechanical ventilation and blood gas analysis
• Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving abilities in dynamic environments
• Professional communication skills and ability to work effectively across care teams
• Current CPR certification; ACLS and BLS certifications preferred
