Engineer Process-US

Kennametal, Inc. seeks a full-time Engineer Process-US to join our manufacturing team in La Vergne, Rutherford County, where you'll optimize production operations and drive continuous process improvement across our facility.

The Opportunity

In this role, you'll take on a central position in enhancing manufacturing capabilities and operational performance. Working for a global industrial technology leader with more than 85 years of trusted innovation, you'll contribute directly to the development and refinement of processes that serve customers in aerospace and defense, earthworks, energy, general engineering, and transportation. Your efforts will shape how we deliver precision products and competitive solutions to industries that depend on advanced manufacturing excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and implement manufacturing processes to maximize efficiency, quality, and cost performance
• Evaluate production equipment and systems to identify optimization and modernization opportunities
• Troubleshoot production issues and develop practical solutions to keep operations running smoothly
• Partner with cross-functional teams in production, quality, and engineering on improvement initiatives
• Create and maintain process documentation, specifications, and standard operating procedures
• Track production metrics and performance data to spot trends and drive enhancements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering field
• Professional experience in process engineering, manufacturing operations, or industrial production environments
• Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment systems, and production workflows
• Familiarity with quality systems and continuous improvement frameworks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with precision and attention to detail
• Working proficiency with manufacturing software, data analysis platforms, and technical documentation tools
• Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills in team-based environments
