About This Position
The Clerk - Student Data position is a critical administrative role within Katy Independent School District's information systems department. Reporting to the Manager of Student Information Systems, you'll work 221 duty days per year in this non-exempt role, contributing to the efficient management and accuracy of student records across the district. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in data quality and supporting the district's educational mission.
Responsibilities
- Enter, verify, and maintain accurate student data within the district's student information system
- Generate routine and ad-hoc reports from student databases to support administrative needs
- Ensure all student records comply with PEIMS (Public Education Information Management System) requirements and state reporting standards
- Process student enrollment, withdrawal, and status documentation
- Support the Student Information Systems team with daily operational tasks
- Communicate with schools and departments to resolve data discrepancies
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive student information
Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Proficiency in data entry and database navigation
- Experience with Student Information System software preferred
- Familiarity with PEIMS data requirements and reporting preferred
- Background in K-12 educational support preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Professional communication and organizational skills
