CDL-A Team Owner Operator – OTR – Dry Van

Forward Air is hiring Class A CDL Owner Operator Teams at our Athens, Clarke County location. This full-time opportunity offers $450,000–$500,000 annually and suits professional drivers with at least one year of experience who want consistent, profitable work with a carrier that values independence and operational transparency.

About This Position

As a CDL-A Team Owner Operator with Forward Air, you'll operate dry van freight on over-the-road routes, partnering with a carrier committed to maximizing your earning potential. This role emphasizes operational freedom—you'll manage your own business model while benefiting from Forward Air's extensive freight network and industry-leading mile assignments. You maintain full control over your truck operation while gaining access to reliable, consistent loads that keep your rig productive.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Execute over-the-road dry van freight deliveries across assigned routes
• Coordinate with dispatch to optimize load selection and route planning
• Maintain detailed logistical records and comply with DOT regulations
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance scheduling
• Communicate proactively with shippers, receivers, and dispatch on delivery status
• Manage fuel, toll, and operational expenses to maximize profitability

Skills & Qualifications

• Active Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL-A) with a clean driving record
• Minimum one year of professional trucking experience
• Verifiable owner-operator or fleet experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of DOT compliance, Hours of Service regulations, and safety protocols
• Reliable communication and professional demeanor
• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines consistently
