About the Role
As a Program Assistant – On Call, you will be integral to the daily operations of our shelter facilities, where you'll help maintain safe, welcoming environments for guests and families. Your work spans multiple properties, including Hannah More Family Shelter, Sarah's Hope Family Shelter, and Interim House. You'll balance hands-on facility upkeep with direct guest support, ensuring both the physical spaces and the people within them receive the attention and care they deserve.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness across all assigned shelter facilities, including floors, common areas, and guest spaces
- Perform routine facility maintenance and basic repairs to keep shelter environments safe and functional
- Handle general handyman tasks and facility improvements as needed to support shelter operations
- Provide supervision and assistance to shelter guests, fostering a respectful and supportive community
- Contribute to security efforts and help maintain a safe, stable environment for all residents
